As a member of the Keepers of the Circle Team, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing a culturally rooted childcare service for families and children.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise Children
  • Plan and Implement Age-appropriate Activities and Lessons, Inside and Outside
  • Meet All Ministry Mandates
  • Provide Effective Communication with Parents/Guardians
  • Partner with Community Agencies
  • Assist in Daily Maintenance of the Centre

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Native Culture and Tradition is an Asset
  • Understanding of the Organization and its Programs is Preferred
  • Experience with Children 0-12 years of Age
  • Up to Date First Aid and CPR Training, Level C (or willing to obtain)
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Both Written and Verbal
  • Flexible to Work a Variety of Shifts
  • Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • ECE Diploma or Equivalent
  • Registered and in a Good Standing with the College of ECE

The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible to the Childcare Supervisor.

The RECE will develop and provide a quality early learning and childcare program which meets the needs of the children and is in line with the requirements of the CCEYA, and the document ‘How Does Learning Happen?’

The RECE will work co-operatively with Educators and Professionals to provide and environment that nurtures, stimulates, and guides each child’s development through a holistic approach to the care and development of children.

The RECE will ensure that services are provided in a safe, caring and culturally appropriate environment as directed through policy approved by the TNWSG Board of Directors and our Wisdom Keepers.
