Solar PV Installation and Maintenance Training
KOTC is offering a FREE 5-day culturally inclusive training for Indigenous women and gender-diverse peoples to learn how to install and maintain solar panels. The solar PV installation and training course teaches participants about the fundamentals of solar energy systems. The course will introduce participants to the basics of electricity and solar energy, provide hands-on opportunity to install solar panels on a demo roof at a KOTC site, and train on how to maintain solar panels on an ongoing basis.
Eligible Indigenous women and gender-diverse people can take the course for free and are provided wrap-around supports as needed. The wrap-around supports could include but not limited to the following:
- Transportation
- Childcare
- Accommodations
